In Plain Sight
I looked at how setting, styling, and makeup could work together to challenge familiar beauty and fashion visuals. The aim was to create imagery that felt bold and considered, while pushing beyond conventional makeup presentation.
The central visual focuses on the model being fully covered, with only the eye visible and highlighted with makeup. Using a male model styled with references to UK street culture, the project creates a deliberate contrast between expectations of masculinity, identity, and beauty. This contrast is used to question how makeup is perceived, who it is for, and how context can shift meaning within an image.
